1. Toyapakeh - Nusa Penida

Toyapakeh, which means ‘salt water’ in Balinese, is the richest site in Penida. It offers a steep wall to the south, terraces with huge hard coral formations in the bay and a shelving reef in the north. The density of coral, sponge and fish life is incredible and on a good day it has all this plus the large pelagics (Hammerhead Sharks, Mantas and Sunfish have been spotted here).

2. Blue Corner - Nusa Lembongan

In the northwest of Nusa Lembongan is the famous Blue Corner dive site. This is an exhilarating dive for experienced divers. There are wild currents at this dirft dive site with dramatic underwater topography. The dive begins by cruising over a series of flat terraces with an incredible diversity of encrusting coral species. At the corner a vertical wall drops from 30m, where large pelagics (sharks, tuna, Marble Rays, and Mola-mola) are often spotted here.

3. Manta Point - Nusa Lembongan

The site that has made Penida famous. Very regular sightings of adult Manta Rays, Turtles and Bamboo Sharks make this site on the exposed south side of the island stunning. A large swell from the Indian ocean pushes up against the coast of Penida and brings plankton-rich waters which attract the mantas all year round

4. Manta Bay - Nusa Penida

Snorkeling and Diving with mantas!

This site is just amazing. We have been surrounded by big rays when the Mantas are here feeding. Our normal practice at this site is dive and snorkel with Mantas to get the maximum. interaction. They are not always around, but when they are....IT JUST MAGIC!

5. Sekolah Dasar / Sental / Buyuk

This is located on the north coast of Nusa Penida. These popular sites are a vast fringing reef that hides a healthy reef starting in shallow water down. This is an incredible drift dive over some of the best reefs in Nusa Penida. With large coral heads, the currents here wind you past the most diverse collections of corals and sponges in Bali while crossing thru spectacular fish school and pelagics that live here. This site is a great place to see Mola-mola in Season and common encounters can be had here with Green and Hawksbill Turtles, Marble Rays, Sea Snakes, Octopus, White Tip Reef Sharks.

6. Crystal Bay - Nusa Penida

This bay deserves its nickname of Crystal Bay as the visibility here is often 30m+. The rock in the middle of the bay has very steep drop-offs to the south and west and an amazing shelf in the north that is carpeted with wrinkled soft corals in the shallows make of this place a magical spot not only for the breathtaking views but also the enormous quantity of fish flying over your head without forget the bigger attraction that you can find here, the bizarre Mola-mola.

7. Ceningan Wall - Nusa Ceningan

The nutrient-rich waters flowing out of the mangroves feed dense collections of multi-colored soft corals and sponges on the north tip of Ceningan. Sweeping out into the current along the wall inquisitive Eagle Rays occasionally join the dive groups for the tour which winds through schools of Oriental Sweetlips and Sleek Unicornfish. The colorful coral wall drops vertically to a depth of over 180m! Currents can be strong here–but experienced divers will LOVE this site!

8. Mangrove

The site is near to the Mangrove Forest on the North East of Nusa Lembongan. Mangroves are important for ensuring coral reef health–and the surrounding reef definitely shows!! The coral diversity and abundant fish life are incredible on this gently sloping reef. This drift-dive is designed for nature lovers and is great for all diving levels.

9. Lembongan Bay

Lembongan Bay is an ideal site for beginner divers, or for avid photographers. The sandy bottom is scattered with coral bommies which are home to frogfish, moral eels, lobsters, schools of damselfish and many more of the smaller species.

10. East Side of Penida

Fantastic sites where we’ve spotted Mola-molas, Mantas and Whale Sharks! Well worth the longer trip and surcharge for these further sites. So request a custom trip to the East side of Penida with Planet Nomadas.

Important Note:

If you are planning to enjoy peaceful Lembongan for a couple of days, chill out on its beaches and dive during your stay, please have in mind that dive speedboats leave to the dive sites very early morning.

Speedboats that arrive from Sanur don't make it to the island earlier than diving-departures.

This makes very recommended to be in Lembongan the day/afternoon before your dives.
